How to Cure a Golf Slice and End Frustration

By Chuck Swinger -

I used to golf with a friend who had a wicked slice. He would aim his T-shots way left, and usually wind up in the rough on the right.  We were either looking for his ball, waiting for him to trec across hill and dale to hit his second shot, waiting for another group to play so that he could wander out into their fairway to hit his ball,  etc. etc.  Because it took us so long to chase his balls, we constantly felt pushed by the group behind us.  So you tended to hurry your shots, hurry your putts, and everybody’s game was negatively effected by our friend the slicer.

Jack Nicklaus wrote in his book “Golf My Way”, “The better I have become, the more I have embarrassed myself by my failures; and the more I have embarrassed myself, the more I have been goaded into trying to develop greater skills.  Of this I am presently certain: When failure ceases to embarrass me, and thus to stimulate me to greater efforts, my day will be done and I shall quit playing golf in public.”

Maybe that’s what we need a little more of…embarrassment on the golf coarse.  If your a consistent slicer, does that embarrass you at all?  Does that stimulate you to a greater effort…to figure out how to cure a slice?  To me, the most embarrassing thing would be the whole idea of doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  You know what they call that don’t you.  Insanity.

It really is sad to see someone go from being happy go-lucky on the first Tee to total frustration by the fourth or fifth Tee. And the game of golf becomes an instrument of torture instead of one of pleasure.

Slicing your shots can cause a lot of frustration and embarrassment. It’s an affliction that effects the majority of golfers. And yet it’s something that can be fixed fairly simply. Don’t let your slice bring you embarrassment and frustration. Learn how to cure a slice today.
