Golf Bag Buying Tips
By Paul Cris -
A golf bag forms an important part of the equipment that lets you carry all your golf items. These items include your golf balls, golf clubs, markers, tees and even umbrellas and towels.
Golf bags don’t impact the result of the game. However they can have a great effect on your attitude by providing comfort as you move around the course.
The amount of load of your gear you keep in the bag depends on you. You can also decide how it will be carried around the course. You can either carry it by hand, or ask a caddie or put it in the cart.
If you want to ride in a golf cart on your rounds, then the weight does not matter. But if you want to carry it yourself, then it makes sense to carry a lighter bag.
Types of golf bags:
1. Staff bags: These are the biggest amongst the golf bags. They can carry an entire set of golf clubs and are fitted with many side pockets. These are the other golf items and equipment that you might want to carry with you. Nearly all professional golfers go for the staff bag because of its capacity to hold a lot of equipment. And because their bag is carried by a caddie, weight is not an issue. A good staff bag is usually made of leather or high quality materials and is quite expensive.
2. Cart Bags: They are comparatively smaller in size than staff bags. But they are bulkier and are difficult to carry around the course. These bags are meant to be placed on golf carts but have lesser pockets and storage capacity.
3. Carry Bags: This is the smallest of the lot and is usually made from plastic, nylon and other light materials. These bags are designed to carry the essentials like the golf clubs, some small golf accessories and balls. They are the appropriate choice for the golfer who prefers to carry his own bag.
